Here are the steps to follow to apply Sikkens base colours correctly:
- Prepare the surface and clean it of any residues of dirt, grease or wax, using the appropriate cleaner and a cloth.
- Lightly sand the surface if imperfections or flaking paint are detected, in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations.
- Shake the can well. You can use your stirrers for this purpose.
- Mix the waterborne paint according to the manufacturer's instructions. Make sure you use the correct dilution proportions to obtain the desired consistency.
- Apply the paint using the two-coat wet-on-wet method.
- Once the application is completely dry, the surface can be finished and polished to a smooth, glossy finish.
