What is HGV paint?
There are several types of paint for carsdepending on the weight of the vehicle. Heavy-duty paint is designed for cars weighing more than 3.5 tonnes. It is thicker and more impact-resistant than other types of paint.
What are the advantages of HGV paint?
Spies Hecker truck paint is specially designed for heavy vehicles such as trucks and buses. It has many advantages over other types of paint:

Time must be set aside for this project. A painting job can take several days, so it's important to be in the right place. Once you've secured your painting location and set aside time to do the job, you're ready to gather your materials.

Stage 2: Workplace and schedule
Once you've got your supplies, you need to move on to preparing the workplace. First of all, clean your work area. If you're working inside a garage, sweep the floors and make sure you have enough space to work. Obstacles along the way will only complicate the task.
If you're working outdoors, you'll need to clean the area with water to remove any dust. You shouldn't paint under a tree. Contaminants can fall onto the fresh paint and ruin the finish. Then wash the car to remove all surface pollutants such as dirt, grease and road grime.

How do I apply HGV paint?
To apply HGV paint, follow the steps below:
- Prepare the surface to be painted by cleaning it. In fact, the cleaning stage is the most critical stage in the HGV painting process. You need a clean surface. Before using the product, the vehicle must be prepared by removing all residues and dirt. To make cleaning easier, we recommend using a nail varnish remover.
- Apply a coat of primer to ensure good adhesion of the paint
- Apply the paint in several coats, respecting the flash times between each coat. The product needs to be worked well, until it becomes almost invisible. Many car painters neglect this stage. However, if you don't work the product carefully, its abrasive properties are not completely reduced.
- To apply, wipe the area to be painted with a soft microfibre towel. Once the work has been checked, you can move on to the next panel.
