What is meyer max hardener?
Max Meyer hardener is a catalyst product made up of isocyanates and aromatic solvents. It can be thinned with another component, such as the clearcoat or primer, to optimise the enamel's flash time and strengthen it.
This product generates a powerful catalysis which accelerates the speed of the chemical process and increases the strength of the mixture. This ensures a consistent preparation with a level of hardness adapted to requirements.

- Standards, which ensure complete drying at temperature.
- Fast, to ensure rapid hardening in low temperatures or when repairing small areas or bodywork components
- Extra fast, with a flash time almost half that of standard hardeners. What's more, these products provide better protection against the sun.
- Slow, to be used when it's very hot or when the areas to be repaired are very large. If you're painting the whole vehicle, use a slow hardener. The slow hardener is highly resistant to acids.
- The speed of curing therefore depends on a number of factors, such as the surface to be sprayed, ambient temperature, time and speed of application.
This hardener offers a number of benefits, including :
- Significantly optimise paint curing time.
- To achieve an even finish and a smooth, durable, glossy coating
- Reinforce the paint's resistance to external aggression.
- To ensure that the product is consistent and holds well on the bodywork.
- Create strong chemical resistance after catalysis.
- Perfect, flawless application.
- Reduce the number of coats to be applied.
- Optimise touch-up work and minor or major bodywork repairs.
- Accelerates the hardening of polyurethane paint.
- For greater resistance to scratches.
How do I use Max Meyer hardener?
Max Meyer hardener can be mixed with various products, such as :- Paint, to harden its structure, increase its hiding power and achieve a better appearance.
- Body filler. This paint hardener can be mixed with different types of body filler: finishing filler, 2-component metal filler, polyester filler, etc. We recommend that you observe all safety rules relating to the application of body filler (such as wearing gloves and goggles).
- The clearcoat, for effective drying of the enamel.
- Resin. Mixing with this product must be done rigorously, for about ten minutes, while carefully stirring the edges of the container to obtain a better result.
- The primer, to accelerate the hardening of this product.
Dosage
It is important to note that the dilution process must comply with the dosage indicated by the manufacturer. Generally speaking, you need to mix 2 doses of paint with one dose of hardener. The characteristics of the application surface and the component to be mixed with the hardener must also be taken into account.Here are some instructions on how to use Max Meyer hardener:
- Add this component gradually to the target product.
- Blend the mixture until smooth. This stage is crucial and has a considerable impact on the final result. For this reason, the components must be mixed thoroughly.
- Leave the mixture to rest for a few minutes.
- Apply the product to the bodywork using left-to-right movements. Bear in mind that the preparation should be applied within an average of 2 hours (the exact time is specified on the product data sheet), to avoid any risks and to take advantage of the effectiveness of the mixture, which may dissipate after this time.
