Types of Cromax hardener
Applied with the paint, the hardener acts by transforming the resin. It is known as a hydro base catalyst. Applied with the clearcoat and primer, it will harden the mixture. It gives a hard structure to the final result. The aim is to improve bodywork protection. The paint hardener forms a cross-linked film.

How do I use Cromax hardener?
Before applying your car painting hardener, we recommend you follow the instructions on the product label. As a general rule, to achieve the ideal aesthetic result, you should :
- Clean the surface of the bodywork to be protected;
- Degrease the surface;
- Unwrap the surface to be treated if necessary.
Once these steps have been completed, you can apply your Cromax hardener mixed with the paint. To mix hardener and paint successfully, you must comply with the following requirements;
- Start by pouring the required amount of hardener into a container;
- Add the paint by multiplying the volume by two, i.e. for 1 litre of hardener, mix 2 litres of paint (if necessary, check the packaging for the exact quantity to use);
- Mix everything together and stir slowly to obtain a smooth result and avoid lumps forming.
It is important to respect the doses to be added in order to guarantee a good result. For application, you can use a basecoat spraygun to spray the hardener-paint mixture. Two to 3 coats are generally applied, with a flash time of 15 minutes between coats.
Finally, don't forget to protect yourself when applying the products. Hardeners and other mixtures used to paint car bodies contain chemicals that can be hazardous to health. So follow the safety rules, in particular wearing protective clothing and washing your hands after use. Think about the environment too, and dispose of product residues in dedicated containers.
