White mother-of-pearl 1L

Description

Mother-of-Pearl White is a waterborne base with a low organic solvent content. This base from Standox Standohy is designed for car repair professionals to enhance the shine of light vehicles with a high-quality opaque or metallic tint.

Technical specifications

  • Reference : MIX 301.
  • Range : Standox Standohyd.
  • Colour : White mother-of-pearl.
  • Capacity : 1L.

Benefits

Standox Standohyd's mother-of-pearl white base colour is made up of concentrated shades and waterborne binders, giving a vehicle a pleasant, stylish finish. In this sense, this base is relevant for these reasons:

  • A product with a low environmental impact, since it contains fewer organic solvents (less than 10%).
  • Exceptional colour rendering with good opacity.
  • Excellent coverage performance.
  • Blending repairs that are easy to apply.
  • Flexible application thanks to its ready-to-use appearance.
  • An effective product, given that it is made up of other additives such as primers, surfacers and clearcoat.
  • An economical basis in terms of the quantity of products to be consumed.

Application

Here are the main steps to follow when applying Standox Standohyd basecoats:

  • Thoroughly prepare the surface to be treated. To do this, you need to sand the old or original paintwork properly and remove all impurities.
  • Degrease the surface with Standox precleaner TB50.
  • Use an orbital sander to sand the primer-surfacer.
  • Filter the white mother-of-pearl base through a 125µ cone filter.
  • Apply the paint using a basecoat spraygun (with an HVLP cap and a 1.3 or 1.4 nozzle, depending on the technical characteristics of the spraygun).
  • Apply two wet coats and a placement veil for metallic and pearlescent shades. To this end, a solid first coat should be applied to ensure better adhesion. After the recommended drying time, apply a second, thinner coat, keeping a greater distance between the spray gun and the treated surface.
  • Leave to dry until the desired matt finish is achieved.
  • Complete the final finish by sanding with P800, using a pneumatic sander, to remove any dirt.
